How Desiree's Journey led her to Coaching

Life Coaches Season 1 Episode 8

Episode 8 features a deep dive into Desiree's journey as a life coach and her coaching methodologies.

Desiree shares her personal journey into coaching, which began in 2016 during a challenging period in her life. She initially forgot about her coaching aspirations while dealing with divorce, yoga teacher training, and her mother's ALS diagnosis.

In 2020, after her corporate job was eliminated during COVID, she finally pursued her coaching career. Michelle and Doree discuss with Desiree her approach to helping clients, particularly focusing on her use of the Positive Intelligence (PQ) framework. Desiree explains how PQ helps clients identify and manage their self-sabotaging behaviors through understanding their 'saboteurs' and developing their 'sage' mind. The conversation touches on Desiree's specialization in midlife transitions and grief coaching. She emphasized how she helps clients navigate various life changes, from divorce to career transitions, using a combination of tools including somatic work, grief counseling, and PQ techniques.

The hosts also discuss the importance of being coachable and open to change, with Desiree highlighting how she provides various tools and approaches, likening her methodology to a 'Golden Corral buffet' where clients can choose what works best for them.

Put on your stretchy pants and get ready for the buffet we fondly love and know as Desiree!
